Delete Your Mihrab Account

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Fastest option: delete your account from the Mihrab app under Profile.

  • Without the app, email us from your account email address.
  • Account data, sessions, notifications, and admin roles are removed.
  • Public masjid listing records stay in the app without your identity attached.

This page explains how to delete your account with Mihrab (developed by Abdur Rehman) and what happens to your data when you do. There are two ways to request deletion, depending on whether you still have the app installed.

Option 1: In the app (immediate)

  1. Open Mihrab and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account and its data are deleted immediately and permanently.

One exception: if you're the sole owner of a masjid listing, deletion is blocked until you either transfer ownership to another admin or remove the listing. Otherwise that masjid would be left with no one able to manage it. The app will tell you if this applies to you.

Option 2: Without the app

Email abdurrehman1a3@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my Mihrab account." We'll verify the request and delete your account within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your name, email address, and password
  • All sign-in sessions (you're signed out on every device)
  • Your push-notification device tokens
  • Your masjid subscriptions and per-prayer reminder preferences
  • Your in-app notification history
  • Your masjid-admin roles (Owner/Editor links to any masjid you help manage)

What's retained

Masjid listings and prayer-timing records you submitted or edited remain in the app. They describe a public place of worship rather than you personally, so they aren't deleted with your account. They're simply no longer linked to your identity. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics and crash data already collected via Firebase may also be retained, per Google's own data handling for Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Encrypted backups of our database may retain a residual copy of your account for up to 30 days before being purged.

See our Privacy Policy for the full picture of what we collect and why.
